Eyyûbîler döneminde ya?ayan ve Memlük Devleti’nin kurulu? y?llar?na da ?ahitlik etmi? olan ?zzeddîn b. Abdüsselâm müderrisli?inin yan? s?ra Emevî Camii hatipli?i D?ma?k kad?l??? gibi pek çok önemli görevi üstlenmi? büyük âlimlerdendir. Bu görevleri dolay?s?yla o, halkla her zaman yak?n bir münasebet içerisinde olmu?, sultanlar devlet görevlileri taraf?ndan ilgi görmü? taltif edilmi?tir. Abdüsselâm’?n bu konumu ?ahsî özellikleri onun iktidar mensuplar?yla müspet menfi baz? münasebetler bulunmas?n? beraberinde getirmi?tir. çal??mada hem de onlardan iktidar? devralan Memlükler meydana gelen siyasî, sosyal dinî hadiselerle ilgili olarak sultan di?er adamlar?yla münasebetleri kronolojik ele al?nm??t?r. Böylelikle ulemân?n üzerindeki etkinli?inin Eyyûbîlerden Memlüklere ta??nmas?nda itibar? ?âfiî kimli?iyle ön plana ç?kan süreçteki rolünü ortaya koymak hedeflenmi?tir. Çal??ma neticesinde mezhebî kimli?i ilmî otoritesi tavizsiz tutumuyla örneklik te?kil etti?i, bahsi geçen iki aras?nda miras anlay??? bak?mdan köprü vazifesi gördü?ü tespit Ayr?ca yönettikleri toplumla farkl?l?klar?ndan dolay? nüfuzundan istifade cihetine giden a??rl?kl? idareyi yönlendirdi?i, idarenin ayn? ?eyi üzerinden yapmas?na müsaade etmedi?i anla??lm??t?r.
